Higher Kontera CTR - Optimization Tips
Optimizing your Kontera in text advertising for higher click thru rates (CTR) is very simple. Unlike other CPC programs, such as Adsense, there are really only three changes that you have to make. Changing the look of your Kontera ads will increase the likelihood a reader will click on them.
First, the best choice for Kontera text color will be the color of your other links on your site. This will help them blend in to your content. Remember, some people are web advertisement savy, and will skip over anything they think is an ad, regardless of how relevant or useful it could be to them.
The second Kontera optimization tip is to change the default double underline to a single underline. Some people may argue this, and rightfully so if the default option makes them more money. But, ultimately, most people see higher CTR in Kontera with the single underline.
The last Kontera optimization tip is to set the max number of ads to display top the maximum allowed. This will increase the likelihood one of your ads will connect with a reader, enticing them to click on the link.
Hope this helps!
Infolinks or Kontera? Which Earns More Money?
In text advertising, specifically Infolinks and Kontera, is something I have recently started implementing on my blogs and websites. These ads are CPC, or PPC, meaning that any time a reader clicks on one of the links, it makes money for my sites.
There is no doubt the economy has had an impact on CPC advertising, both for advertisers and publishers. From my research, both Infolinks and Kontera users are generally seeing lower CPC rates than ever before. But they still can be profitable in monetizing your website or blog.
I ran Kontera for about a month, and used the optimized single underline, with the font color being the same as my other site links. My CTR ranged anywhere from 0.5% to 1%. The discouraging point was that I was seeing no greater than $.03 per click.
I have since been running Infolinks with much better results. The CTR is much higher, ranging from 1% to 2%, and the average click is around $.06 with some coming as high as $.35 and more.
Every day varies, but these numbers are generalized to give you a better picture on which of the two is earning more money at the moment. Infolinks claims they are the 'Highest Paying In Text Advertising Solution', and right now, as far as I'm concerned, they are.
If anyone is making more money with Kontera, I'd be happy to listen!
